Fall Frolics, 2010
"Trick-or-Treat" Street

For the second year, RUMC participated in the Riverview Chamber of Commerce's "Trick-or-Treat Street".  Our participation allowed us to pass out candy safely to over 5,000 children in the greater Riverview community and to gain exposure thoughout the area.  For the second year, our booth won the orange ribbon for the "most creative design.

Thanks are due to the Fellowship Committee, and especially to Carrie Wagner for collecting the candy and, designing the booth, and for creating the flyers and business cards we distributed.  And even though she was hospitalized at the time, Annabel Leonard should be applauded for providing us with many of the props and decorations that were used.  A special tip of the hat goes out to the Gleaners Sunday School class who provided needed financial support.

The pictures below were taken by Carrie and Chris Wagner.
Pumpkin Patch Customers

An annual tradition at RUMC is our Pumpkin Patch in October.  Proceeds from the Patch are used to fund youth programs, especially to fund summer camp scholarships.

This year, because of the small size of our youth group, the United Methodist Men have stepped in to provide support.  Another consequence of the youth group's small size is that scholarships will be offered to children as young as Fourth Grade.

We have been gratified with the brisk sales from our pumpkin patch this year, and we're worried that we may actually run out of inventory before Halloween arrives--a great problem to have!

Here are some pictures taken at our patch on a recent Fall Saturday afternoon.
