Michelle Moore Nominated for
the National Young Leaders Conference
Michelle Moore, an active member of the Fusion Youth Group, and the daughter of Gary and Missy Moore, has been nominated to attend the National Young Leaders Conference. Her letter contains more information, including how you can get involved as a sponsor.
Dear Friends & Family,
As most of you are aware, I am now a sophomore at Robinson High School International Baccalaureate Program, and I have been nominated to represent my school and community as a member of the National Young Leaders Conference in Washington
D. C.
The Congressional Youth Leadership Council nominates exceptional students from around the country to attend an experiential educational program. This will be a powerful experience, enabling me to interact with many prominent men and women whom most of us only read about in the news.
Attending this program will enable me to further my interest in how our Government is run, and to pursue and reach my goal of becoming a Neonatologist. As a newborn, I was treated in a neonatal unit prior to being released to go home with my parents. I maintain a 4.24 GPA, and I am involved in many activities within my school and church.
Imagine if you had been given this opportunity for a life-changing experience when you were school and were unable to participate due to a lack of funds. That is why I am writing to you today. My participation in the conference will only happen if I can raise $3000 in sponsorships. The conference tuition is $1480 and my travel to and from the conference is about $900. Part of the requirement for my acceptance to the conference is that I must raise these funds on my own. I am working a parttime job to raise funds, but I will still need your help. Any funds that remain upon my return will be donated to RESTORE, a food bank at my church.
This is such a special honor for me to be nominated, and I can promise that I will represent not only my school, but also our community in the best way I can. Any contribution that you would be willing to make is greatly appreciated. Donations are also tax-deductible.

The Youth Get Ready for Christmas
The children’s Christmas musical will be held on December 21st at 6:30 PM. If your little ones are interested in participating, practices are being held on Wednesday from 7:00 to 7:45 PM. There is still time to join this exciting opportunity. For more information, contact Amy Yost at 840-8120.
NOTE: The Children's dance group, "Praise in Motion", has suspended regular Sunday practices until after the holidays. It will resume on Sunday, January 11, 2009.
